CD Creatures

9 Apr

We get “try me” CDs and DVDs in the mail, junk pretty much but I save them because I save everything I might be able to do a craft with.  Then there are the old, scratched up movies or CDs of bands I cannot believe I ever listened to.  Today the boys and I upcycled a few of these useless treasures into sparkly creatures!

All you need are old CDs or DVDs, craft glue, construction paper, and something jewel-like.  (sequins, buttons, craft gems, mosaic pieces etc)

We used the non printed side of the DVDs, glued craft jems on like scales and feathers.  I cut various shapes out of the paper for fins, feathers, tails and mouths.  The boys glued them how ever they wanted, then used google eyes to finish the creatures faces.  We’ve got fish, monsters and a bird!  And it was totally FREE!
